Training Tip - Music, Dogs, & Tex-Mex

Training Tip - Music, Dogs, & Tex-Mex

Music, Dogs, & Tex-Mex

Every being NEEDS certain elements in their life to be fulfilled. From grasshoppers to birds to fish to dogs to humans.

For me personally a few of those elements are: family, competition, music, being with Mother Nature, and eating Tex-Mex.

When I remove (for too long) any of the elements I need to feel complete/fulfilled, I become out of balance and unhappy.

Our dogs are exactly the same. We must provide:

ANIMAL level fulfillment - understand energy, provide safety, order, food, water, clear/fair communication

SPECIES level fulfillment - understand how the species processes information and act accordingly, understand the species normal day when not in captivity and try to recreate that, understand how they live with and behave within a group of their own species and honor that in your relationship

BREED level fulfillment - border collies need to herd, hounds need to track, terriers need to hunt - there’s no changing genetics, only honoring them

INDIVIDUAL DOG level fulfillment - this is where we really get to know OUR dog and do things with them that they truly love to do. So this is the FAMILY PET level - where you call them by name. Everything above this is not a family pet.

Animal, Dog, Breed, Family Pet and we must raise them using this order or we’re not honoring/fulfilling them. Thus all of the issues me and my team deal with on a daily basis.

🤷🏻‍♂️ Our challenge for you today is to continue learning about dog psychology and even if you don’t have all of the answers you want yet, simply change how you view your dog through this animal, dog, breed lens.

Ok. It’s Friday. Family Tex-Mex night. I will be fulfilled tonight. ❤️ 🌮
