BEHAVIORAL TRAINING DETAILS
INDEPENDENT LEARNING
BDB’s Independent Learning offering is designed to help anyone, anywhere. So, whether distance or finances are the reason you can’t work with BDB or maybe you believe that with the right information you can train your dog yourself, our Independent Learning content is for you! The catalog of content will continue to grow so we can help as many dog parents as possible.
VIRTUAL CONSULTATION
Not a local? Not a problem. Our 60 minute, virtual consultations take place via Zoom or FaceTime and are designed to evaluate and address your dog’s behavioral issues. If we believe your dog’s issues are more severe than a virtual consultation can address, we will let you know during the consultation and recommend a training program that is right for your dog.
PRIVATE CONSULTATION
Our 90 minute, private consultations take place at the BDB Experience Center and are designed to evaluate and address your dog’s behavioral issues with you, hands-on. If we believe your dog’s issues are more severe than a consultation can address, we will let you know during the consultation and recommend a training program that is right for you and your dog.
CONSULTATION PACKAGES (MOST POPULAR)
Obviously each dog and situation is different, so we will customize our time together to achieve the best results.
CONSULTATION 1:
Understanding Dog Behavior and communication via the leash, energy, and body language.
CONSULTATION 2:
Mastering the walk, understanding the importance of space and place
CONSULTATION 3:
Understanding the importance of the crate, how to properly feed, socialization with our pack, and you will walk a pack of dogs!
CONSULTATION 4:
(Optional - must finish Consults 1-3) Treadmill training and trotting next to a bike
CONSULTATION 5:
(Optional - must finish Consults 1-3) Private consultation in your home dealing with specific issues
BOARD & TRAIN
Our standard Board & Train program, led by Brad, has no time limit with a minimum of 5 weeks. Your dog will progress through our system based on what his/her specific needs are.
Should your dog need more than 5 weeks to achieve balance, we will continue training until he/she is ready. There is no hard timeline because all dogs have different types and levels of challenges and progress at different rates of speed.
The go-home session includes a 2.5 hour human training session plus a mandatory, virtual follow-up. If needed, we will also do an in-home follow-up session to ensure success. You will also receive two PDF’s full of dog behavior information that reinforces everything you were taught, as well as over thirty videos that demonstrate everything you were taught. You will also have access to Brad directly for questions.
We will take it slow to ensure your dog, our pack dogs, and our staff are comfortable and safe.
BEFORE YOU BOOK
- Please read our FAQ thoroughly before booking.
- Fill out your Client and Dog Profiles in detail to give us the best chance to find the right solution for you and your dog!
- For the safety of your dog and all dogs in our care, a behavioral evaluation is needed for any dog entering a Board & Train program, boarding, or daycare. Evaluations take place at our Dallas location. There is a $100 evaluation fee.
- Dogs must be 6 months or older, spayed/neutered (if older than 8 months at time of training), and up-to-date on vaccines in order to attend a Board & Train program. If your dog doesn’t meet those requirements and you are interested in Private Training, please indicate that when creating your profile.
- The entire BDB team will work with your dog at different stages of its stay, in an effort to expose the dogs to different environments, experiences, energies, and handlers.
DROP-OFF INFORMATION
- All Board & Train drop-offs occur on Mondays between 7:30 – 8:30am and all go-home sessions (~2.5 hours each) occur on Saturdays at 11am. Please book a specific time for drop-off. If you need an earlier drop-off or later pick-up time, the standard boarding fee will apply per night.
- Bring your dog’s food portioned out by meal (two per day) in Ziploc bags placed inside a bag or sack that has your dog’s name written on the outside. We feed twice daily.
- When you arrive, please stay in or next to your car. If you are on time, a BDB employee should be outside waiting on you. If there is not someone outside waiting on you, simply text our business line (972-850-6149) to let us know that you have arrived and we will be out shortly.
- Please have a slip lead or flat collar and leash on your dog for drop-off and pick-up.
- No harnesses, prong collars, or chain collars will be kept on dogs during their stay at BDB.
- We will provide bedding and toys as needed for your dog.
- We will administer medications if needed.
- Please do not send toys, blankets, beds, bowls, treats, spoons, scoops, or anything else. We will provide everything needed other than food and medications.
